From the recording SELAH
“Selah” is another of SounDoctrine’s Soulful Contemplation of Rhythmic ‘Jazz meets World’ featuring Vocals by Sheldon Grayson and sensational flutist, Jeremy DeJesus. With Jerry Thompson’s thought provoking lyrics juxtaposed against SounDoctrine’s smoldering undercurrent, “Selah” easily flows right into your ‘repeat’ file.
Produced by Jere B and longtime engineer, Jerry Thompson, SounDoctrine continues their exploration into experimentalmusic that engages their listeners without locking them into one genre of music. Masters of “Originalternativefunkjazzfusion!” the ensemble displays the dexterity that has kept them an indie favorite since 2002.
Reminiscent of Earth, Wind & Fire’s Phillip Bailey, newcomer Sheldon Grayson steps into his debut with energy and grace. Berklee School of Music grad Jeremy DeJesus positions his elegant flute right across the ‘stop&start’ backbeat while Hubert Clardy gently slides his piano underneath. “Selah” is quite the excursion.
“Selah” is the second single release from SounDoctrine’s forthcoming fourth album, “Source.”
